Giriş ve Fugato, ikili yaylılar orkestrası için tasarlanmış yoğun bir orkestral diyalog eseridir. İki ayrı yaylı grubunun birbirine yanıt veren, iç içe geçen dokuları üzerinden ilerleyen çalışma, klasik giriş–fugato formunu çağdaş mikrotonal ve dinamik katmanlarla yeniden yorumlar; ağır, karanlık bir başlangıçtan patlayıcı kontrapuntal enerjiye uzanan dramatik bir yay çizerek dinleyiciyi seslerin mekânsal ve zamansal derinliğine davet eder. İki orkestranın simetrik kullanımı, pizzicato–arco zıtlıkları ve sürekli dinamik dalgalanmalar eserin temel mimarisini oluşturur.
Giriş bölümü, Grave temposunda derin bir karanlık ve beklenti atmosferiyle açılır. Viyolonsel ve kontrbasların ff pizzicato vuruşlarıyla başlayan eser, iki orkestranın arpej benzeri kromatik figürlerini ve uzun sustain’lerini yavaşça üst üste bindirir; A ve B işaretlerinde yoğunlaşan arco–pizz geçişleri, ppp’den fff’e ani sıçramalarla gerilimi adım adım yükseltir. Kromatik kümeler ve soluklu yaylı glissandoları, dinleyiciyi adeta bir sis perdesinin içinden ilerleyen bir yolculuğa hazırlar; 28. ölçüye kadar süren bu kısım, sessiz bir patlamaya zemin hazırlar.
Fugato bölümü ise Allegro energico ile patlar ve iki orkestra arasında gerçek bir taklit savaşı başlatır. C işaretinden itibaren canlı ritmik motifler, hızlı arpejler ve çapraz girişler birbirini kovalar; üst yaylıların parlak, keskin çizgileri ile alt grubun derin, dalgalı pizzicato ve arco katmanları sürekli yer değiştirir. Yoğun polifoni, dinamik kontrastlar ve sürekli yükselen enerjiyle doruğa ulaşan bu kısım, klasik fugato ruhunu modern yaylı orkestra dokusuyla yeniden canlandırır; finalde motiflerin birbirine karışması ve çözülmesi, eserin başından beri kurulan gerilimin katartik bir kapanışla hafızada kalmasını sağlar.
Introduction and Fugato is an intense orchestral dialogue for double string orchestra. Built on interweaving, answering textures between two separate string groups, the work reinterprets the classical introduction–fugato form with contemporary microtonal and dynamic layers; it draws a dramatic arc from a heavy, dark beginning to explosive contrapuntal energy, inviting the listener into the spatial and temporal depth of the sound. The symmetrical use of the two orchestras, pizzicato–arco contrasts and continuous dynamic waves form the basic architecture of the piece.
The Introduction, in a Grave tempo, opens with an atmosphere of deep darkness and expectation. Beginning with ff pizzicato strokes in the cellos and double basses, the work slowly superimposes the arpeggio-like chromatic figures and long sustains of the two orchestras; arco–pizz transitions intensifying at letters A and B raise the tension step by step with sudden leaps from ppp to fff. Chromatic clusters and breathy string glissandi prepare the listener for a journey advancing as through a veil of mist; this section, lasting until bar 28, lays the ground for a silent explosion.
The Fugato then erupts in Allegro energico and launches a true battle of imitation between the two orchestras. From letter C onward, lively rhythmic motifs, rapid arpeggios and cross-entries pursue one another; the bright, sharp lines of the upper strings continually exchange places with the deep, undulating pizzicato and arco layers of the lower group. This section, reaching its climax through dense polyphony, dynamic contrasts and steadily rising energy, revives the spirit of the classical fugato in a modern string-orchestra texture; in the finale the mixing and dissolving of the motifs leave the tension built from the beginning etched in memory through a cathartic close.
